Chavez is no longer Chavez

Chavez is now a red tide, overflowing with love and commitment, which floods the streets of Caracas, in mourning. Chavez is the People who, Constitution in hand, enact a peaceful revolution, with a sovereign roadmap that is ethical, political, social, economic and cultural.
The Chavez of today is a diverse people with a long-term project, with a vision of comprehensive change, which starts with the personal and extends to the macro-social level. He is a process emerging in the district and extending towards the Caribbean and to the South, with a vision of unity and solidarity that is learned and practiced in daily living
Chavez is agrarian revolution, a proposal for agro-ecological farming and a vision of food sovereignty. He is social production and communal property, he is the Socialist commune. He is people’s solidarity with Haiti, with impoverished people of Harlem, with Palestine, with the other peoples of the Caribbean, and everywhere. He is a redistributive project with dignity. He is dreams, "which come like rain", as he said.
Chavez is the open book of socialism in the 21st century, with hundreds of chapters begun and thousands of pages to be written collectively. He is endogenous thought emerging impetuously: new and historic, decolonizing, feminist, ecological and anti-imperialist. Chavez is the 'canaimita' (educational computer) in the hands of a young girl, daughter of a people who left illiteracy behind and now has new knowledge projects. Chavez is @chavezcandanga, he is 'Hello President', he is popular, alternative and public communication, he is communication guerrilla, he is media in the hands of the people and free software.
Chavez is Evo, marching alongside the Venezuelan people along the eight kilometres of red tide. Chavez with Evo is the era of Pachakuti, he is Tupak Amaru returned and now millions. He is also internationalized llanero singing, he is popular culture revived. He is many cultures, many peoples united in visions of alternatives to capitalism that are now possible.
Chavez is today’s Latin American project for change: he is ALBA, he is UNASUR, he is Social Movements toward ALBA, he is new financial architecture, he is the Sucre, he is sovereign defense system. Chavez is the CELAC with its 33 member countries oriented towards the South, towards the world, without the empire. Chavez is Latin American unity with Cristina, with Correa, with Mujica, with Lula, with Lugo, with their peoples. He is an embrace with Rigoberta, with João Pedro, with the March of Women, with hundreds, thousands, with millions.
Chavez is the world seen from the South, he is a sovereign Caribbean, a sovereign Latin America, meeting with Africa, the Middle East, Asia, with the alternative North. He is the project of a multipolar world, being designed with revolutionary love and taking form.
Chavez is peoples in plural, diversities, projects of resistance and change that emerge with vigor. He is recent proposal and memory. And it is because Chavez has always been where he had to be, at the time when he had to be, taking his Socialist message, his example of dignity, his proposal for sovereignty, his indignation with injustice and even his dissatisfaction with the 'smell of sulphur', which persists after imperialist presence, after the arrogance of "why don't you shut up", after the "global governance", of the IFIs, of the FTAs...
Chavez was already huge, but one day in August, last year, he said: I am no longer Chavez: Chavez is you young person, is you woman, is you the People, so then he grew even more, and he shared his leadership and it multiplied to infinity, and is now immortalized in that red tide singing "we are all Chavez".
He didn't want to die, he resisted with heroism and love, "so much remains for me to do" he said, and he fought for the life he loved. This is why the people are singing, with Alí Primera, “el que muere por la vida, no puede llamarse muerto” (someone who dies for life, cannot be called dead). And he will return every day in the guidelines for humanity that he had traced, the revolutionary ideas that he sowed. And we will continue to see him return, wrapped in the Cuban and the Bolivarian flags, he will return with Bolivar and his sword to visit the thousands of popular projects, communities and Missions, internationalist schemes. "Chavez did not die! He multiplied!".
