Switzerland’s foreign policy and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Peasants

Peasants, the world's main food providers, are the first to suffer from hunger and extreme poverty in many countries. Aware of this situation, the United Nations adopted a Declaration in 2018 to guarantee their rights. Switzerland is committed to implementing it. However, a study commissioned by several Swiss NGOs - of which CETIM - shows that its foreign policy leaves much to be desired in this area.
