The Swedish example
- Opinión
The Swedish government respected the right of free movement of its citizens and their right, as adults, to decide what is best for them.
The Swedish government refrained from ordering a brutal mass house arrest of its entire population.
The Swedes did not lose their heads in the face of the global campaign to terrorize through COVID-19.
A campaign orchestrated by the mainstream western press and the governments of some countries.
Sweden registered just 3,040 coronavirus deaths. Most of them among the elderly, which is always the group most affected by any flu epidemic.
That figure shows that the dangerousness of COVID-19 was deliberately exaggerated by alleged expert epidemiologists. The purpose of the campaign is to terrify the world population, so it will accept the unprecedented order, in a democratic nation, of a global house arrest under police supervision of the entire population. Very much the same objective of terrorist actions: to subdue free people by fear.
A precedent had to be created for governments so they wield the scarecrow of a return of COVID-19, so the population submissively accepts the order to lock themselves in their homes, as soon as the demonstrations begin due to the coming global economic disaster whose outbreak was expected for 2020.
Sweden defied apocalyptic predictions made by critics of its policy of maintaining normality.
The Swedish Public Health Agency has registered yesterday 99 new Covid-19 deaths, bringing the death toll to 3,040. Sweden currently has 24,623 confirmed cases of the virus. It means a 12% mortality among those affected. A rather normal incidence in any flu epidemic that didn’t justify all the fuss around it.
Sweden was at the forefront of a heated debate on the effectiveness and necessity of global home imprisonment and the blocking of private transportation.
The Swedish government did not close schools or businesses, opting for a smart strategic approach: protection of the vulnerable groups.
People were advised to abide by prudent measures such as the distance of one meter between persons, a normal distance between Swedes, little given to effusive approaches.
The Swedish government never decreed extreme and unprecedented measures such as putting healthy people under house arrest under police surveillance and the threat of fines and arrest, as in countries whose governments suffer from omnipotence.
Yet Sweden had a much lower death rate per million inhabitants.
Anders Tegnell, Sweden's state epidemiologist, admitted that his country has fought to protect the elderly from the disease.
According to the official count, people 80 and older account for about two-thirds of deaths.
Many of these deaths occurred in nursing homes, a tragic trend seen in much of Europe, where getting rid of the elderly in nursing homes is the custom.
Critics of the Swedish approach to the pandemic have pointed out that Sweden had a higher death toll per million inhabitants than its Scandinavian neighbors.
However, the countries with the most deaths per million people are Belgium, Italy, France, Spain and the United Kingdom. All of them locked their respective healthy populations under police surveillance.
Experts who prophesied tens of thousands of deaths in Sweden have been discredited.
The Swedish model was widely criticized by Imperial College in London (ICL), which stated that Sweden would pass the 40,000 deaths by May 1; that mortality would continue to increase up to 100,000 deaths in June.
It was feared that a real example of a nation that continued its normal life under the Covid pandemic would discredit the terrorist campaign to subdue and docilize the population so that they would obey when Western governments would send them home with a sanitary scarecrow, as soon as the disorders began due to the next world economic crisis.
The facts show that Macron in France and Piñeira in Chile were the only beneficiaries of the fearmongering orchestrated around the Covid-19.
